Our Mission

Mission

The mission of the Salesian work at the Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Tibidabo is Evangelization in a distinctive style, which includes:

  • Proclaming the mercy of God through encounters with His Word, promoting devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
  • Encouraging transformative and communal participation in the sacraments.
  • Proposing a spirituality and a way of prayer that prioritize personal encounter with Jesus Christ and the transformation of one’s life, following the paths of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network. 
  • Promoting the practice of Eucharistic adoration, ensuring its quality in accordance with the Salesin spirit of the Temple.
  • Welcoming visitors, pilgrims, and groups, especially young people from the Church and working-class backgrounds, with the warmth of the Salesian charism.

Activities

Activities carried out and promoted by the Tibidabo Temple:

  • The Temple remains open all day, offering visitors the opportunity to pray, visit or engage in conversation with a member of the Salesian community.
  • Participation in the Sacraments.
  • Personal prayer and community prayer of Lauds Vespers.
  • Eucharistic exposition for personal and group adoration.
  • Evangelization and formation initiatives through the Tibidabo Magazine, guided tours, audioguides, the temple’s rich symbolism, and social media.
  • Salesian House for retreats, gatherings, formation sessions, and celebrations.
  • Elevator accesss for panoramic views, in collaboration with Barcino Sacra Card.
