The encounter between the Tibidabo Salesian community and a group of young people discerning a vocation to consecrated Salesian life took place on Saturday, February 21st. The youth, accompanied by several Salesian brothers and priests, arrived at the sanctuary mid-morning after celebrating the Eucharist at Barcelona’s Can Prats.

At the Salesian house, they engaged in a period of reflection before sharing a meal with the welcoming community. Later, they took a guided tour led by the director, Miquel Armengol, and ascended to the highest point of the Temple, at the feet of the Sacred Heart statue. Following the visit and commemorative photographs, they returned to the city of Barcelona to continue their gathering at other emblematic Salesian sites.

Participants in this vocational encounter included young adults aged 18 to 25, some of whom are already part of the “proposal communities” (comunidades propuesta) of Seville Bartolomé Blanco or Madrid Carabanchel. The attendees hailed from various locations, including Elche, Utrera, Seville, Madrid, Santiago, Las Palmas, Córdoba, Zaragoza, and even Zambia; the group comprised both students and young professionals.

It was a joyful day for the Tibidabo Salesian community, as well as for the youth and animators from the two Salesian Provinces (Inspectorates) of Spain: Mary Help of Christians and Saint James the Greater, which work together in youth and vocational ministry.
